Hand Holding a Branch

Prior to founding Authentic Self Therapeutic Services, LLC,

I provided therapeutic care as: a group therapist at a partial hospitalization program, a home-based family therapist and a child and adolescent outpatient therapist at a community mental health center, and, most recently, as an individual therapist for children, youth, and adults at a private practice.

I value lifelong learning. After graduating from the University of Michigan's School of Social Work as a Scholar of Child Welfare in 2017, I have engaged in professional consultation with a certified psychoanalyst, a peer-to-peer consultation group, and have completed one year of post-graduate psychodynamic training through the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute and Society. I am presently working towards completion of an advanced, clinical trauma training taught by Janina Fisher, Ph.D.

I am spiritually centered and believe in the value of self-exploration.

I am queer (pan/lesbian). I write poetry, fiction, and personal narratives and enjoy reading and hot yoga. I enjoy spending time gardening with my wife.

I am living my dream by being a therapist, and I am

here to support your dreams, too.

- Hope

“The sun shall always

rise upon a new day

and there shall always be

a rose garden

within me.

Yes,

there is a part of me

that is broken,

but my broken soil

gives way

to my wild roses.”

I completed a Master of Social Work in 2017 from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with specializations in Child Welfare and in Interpersonal Practice with Children, Youth, and Families.

The most valuable information I take forward is that everyone needs

safety, support, trust, and hope.

“You become. It takes a long time. That’s why it doesn’t happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept.

Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off,
and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby.

But these things don’t matter at all, because once you are Real
you can’t be ugly, except to people who don’t understand.”
